This October, OPITO, the global, not-for-profit safety and skills authority, will return to the Asia-Pacific region with OPITO Global 2026, taking place on 13-14 October in Kuala Lumpur under the theme 'A Shared Future of Safety: One Workforce. Many Sectors.' Bringing together leaders, workforce specialists and innovators from across safety-critical industries, the conference will explore how different sectors can collaborate to strengthen workforce capability, enhance safety outcomes and respond to the challenges of an increasingly mobile and interconnected workforce.
As industries continue to evolve, many sectors share common workforce, competency and safety challenges. OPITO Global 2026 will provide a platform for delegates to exchange knowledge, share best practice and discuss how globally aligned standards, transferable skills and competence assurance can help build a more resilient workforce. Confirmed keynote speakers David Lim and Jo Farrell will bring two distinct perspectives on leadership, resilience and workforce development. Renowned mountaineer and leadership coach David Lim will share lessons on teamwork and leading through uncertainty, while Jo Farrell, founder of Build Like A Girl and 2024 ACT Australian of the Year, will explore the importance of inclusion, workforce development and creating pathways for people from all backgrounds to succeed. Their keynote sessions will offer valuable insights into building skilled, adaptable and future-ready workforces.
